The Gaza Strip, one of the world’s most crowded areas, is home to 2.1 million Palestinians living under a 15-year blockade. The region has suffered constant attacks and increasingly strict blockades.

Following a recent ceasefire, while some aid has reached Gaza, the damage from Israeli attacks, including the destruction of most roads and water systems, continues to hinder relief efforts. Many displaced people remain homeless, and most hospitals are only partially functioning. In northern Gaza, where 80% of buildings are destroyed, 300,000 people have lost their homes.

Children are particularly affected. Nearly 38,500 children have lost one or both parents since the conflict began, leaving them deeply traumatized. Thousands of women have also been widowed. The lack of basic necessities, such as water, food, medical supplies, and electricity, has caused widespread famine and hardship. Children suffer from severe malnutrition and ongoing trauma.

The severe shortage of essential resources like water, food, shelter, sanitation, and medical assistance makes these already dire conditions even worse.
